Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actor and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach or school shows when she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these characters. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's screen debut took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records in its first day opening and the opening weekend's earnings. The film was praised by experts, and also by the performances of its three young stars. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards in the film.
